The timestamps all say I’ve been off the grid for three years, which is crazy. Good job to me, because I think this is the tenth site I’ve started that I’ve let wither since I started writing. I’m going to give myself a medal because that level of shittiness is worthy of a gold. Way to go, Sahltines, you’ve earned this one.
Contrary to what this site indicates, I have still been writing. ‘Well, where has it been, you fuck stick?’ is the obvious question, and the answer is simple. It’s on my hard drive, waiting to be posted here. ‘Well then, why don’t you post it, fag?’ Good question, here’s my answer.
When I started this site, I wanted to make it a clear definitive from my past pages, which most of those focused on things relating to my life at the time, which involved a lot of immature college-student whining, video game related ranting and complaints from what could be misconstrued as the first wave of social justice, just instead of the bitching being about ‘marginalized people’ it was about those same people being lazy and stupid. That isn’t to say that my old material was incorrect, just juvenile at best. I actually found an article I had typed out in Word and later posted to one of my sites and it was beyond cringe-worthy. Despite the topic itself being a gold mine (it was on people who attention whore through Facebook status updates), the tone came off as a ‘this girl won’t notice me and she’s a bitch’ which would’ve been true had this been about ten years ago instead of five and had the article been written better. There were also a lot of articles that just ended with no continuation, and while that’s nice as a first draft, the fact I even posted some of that shit was just downright deplorable.
So what does all this mean? It means that I will be posting here again, considering I’m still in college and plan to be here for the foreseeable future, meaning I’ll have the time I want/need to update regularly. Having cut a lot of recent distractions and shitty people out of my life is going to help, and having gotten back into actually writing some of my ideas out on paper during my free time on campus in the daylight will push me to actually finish what I start. I have no plans on changing the format, or cleaning up the language here, because there is no reason to go for that. Until I land a couple of big person life positions that will determine my money stream for the future, I may not update as frequently as I’ve stated before, but I do expect to have a piece done at least once a month, if not biweekly.
TL;DR: the salt is back.
